News: Just released (out today, in fact) - Femme Fatales of Fright, published by NVH - the zine who I’ve been in a handful of times.
There’s a new story of mine in this book, called The Trickle Down Solution (inspired by something very odd I noticed in hea;th centr ewaiting room the other week).
And very importantly there is the first ever published work of a friend of mine, Kitty Taylor - which is totally awesome and I’m very proud to be in there with her on her first time!
Anyhow, clicky here for the book
In other news…uh…I’m officially, definitely, 100% accepted and confirmed and going to Keele University in September. Woohoo!
That’s about it, really. Just trying to make all of that stuff fall into place and what have you, but it should be fine. Hopefully, I’ll find a place up there in August, move into it in September, start at the very end of September on the Foundation Year which is the precursor to the 3 year degree course.
I do at some point have to name my dual honours bit but I’m still undecided on that and will likely remin so until they actually ask me to do so…
There’s scary stuff, but even that is also exciting and I’m really looking forward to most of it. As for the rest, that’ll sort itself and I’m not getting too stressed. S’all good. Heehee. I’m goin’ to Uni. Heehee. It’s funny. Heehee.
Take care y’all xx
Here you go guys, I promised you a ghost story in the January issue of New Voices in Fiction - and it’s up there right now, waiting for you. Click here and go read Hungry House. It’s my very first ghost story, so feedback would be lovely if you can spare the time.
xx
Good news, good news, Deadly Dolls is now available in print! Go visit the page at Turner Maxwell Books by clicking right here.
Quite warning - the doesn’t work so well in Firefox, though it’s fine in Explorer. Couldn’t tell you about any of the other browsers though, didn’t experiment that far.
Anyway, it’s a good price, and it’s really good book. And, if you’re one of the people who has the first Shadow Walkers book and is waiting for more, you can find out how Lana came to meet them in Not Just A Little Rich Girl, which is my little contribution to the whole.
Also, while discussing NVF publications, just to remind you, the new edition of the New Voices in Fiction zine is out on Jan 3rd, so watch for that here. Again, I’m plugging it because I’m in it, obviously - and with something quite special, as it happens: my first ever proper ghost story.
I’m quite proud of it actually, so do have yourselves a read.
So, Nano is going ok, depsite being insanely tired. I am actually coming down with something that I really hope isn’t the flu but really suspect is, which would explain my totla lack of energy and motivation.
But I’m doing alright. I’m over 19k as of today so on track for the 50k - and in no way out of reach of the 60k I would like to get. Planning a writing afternoon on Thrusday, illness allowing, so will hopefuly make some headway.
And my imp is really quite cool, I like him so much that I’m already setting up next year’s Nano with him
In other news, the Deadly Dolls ebook is out on Amazon Kindle Click here
Now, it’s not just me, there are some really good writers in there and it’s a good price. Unfortunately, as of yet it is only on Kindle, and those things cost far too much, but hopefully it’ll be more widely available soon…
More info later, but, be aware - there’s gonna be a brand new Shadow Walkers short in a new anthology entitled Deadly Dolls (femme fatales in horror fiction).
If you’ve been reading, then you’ll know the lovely Lana. And if you’re at all like me, you’ve wondered how on earth she got involved with the Shadow Walkers. Well, Not Just A Little Rich Girl is that story.
I’ll keep you posted, but look for this anthology in ebook and print very soon.
